Air and water pollutants can be a leading cause of illness. Federal and State laws regulate the discharge of pollutants. Even though there are laws to regulate discharge and governmental bodies established to monitor discharge, oftentimes bad practices go unnoticed. What is particularly distressing about certain types of chemical exposure is that harm can be caused to the body before one is even aware that he/she is being exposed to a chemical. Chemical exposure is linked to acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), brain damage, nerve damage, lung cancer, among many other types of illnesses, ailments and syndromes.
